Have you ever seen a riptide. Well Anthe explains, I saw one and thought it like angel wings on the water. I painted it. Collaged pieces using pictures of the water pooling in joined circles. When I was looking for a scene I had in my minds eye from a trip to Vanderbilt Beach before I moved here….I remembered the angels wings. I started painting it from memory but couldn’t quite get the angle right. I looked and prayed for the picture to show up in my search. After a couple of days I found it. I was able to continue to work on it until it was done. When finished it, I called my studio mate to see what I had done. When her walked in and looked at it he said, “Wow, you painted a riptide.” Then he asked where I saw it. With that I explained it. I realized that it was a good thing I didn’t walk into the water, as I might have gotten taken away….So I knowing that God’s Love can swallow you up like a RipTide….Yes His love is like a riptide....it will envelop you and take you away, It was the perfect title for this piece! “
