Anthe Capitan-Valais’s metallic hand-painted mural, in a Mainline designer home that was being sold to raise money for the local hospital. The mural was a luminous 17-foot-wide by 10-foot-high composition set between two windows, bathes the space in a serene, reflective glow; its textured metallics catch daylight and evening lamp-light differently, creating depth and movement across the surface. Framed by the window openings, the mural establishes a quiet dialogue with the outside—rhododendrons in the yard visible through the panes echo the mural’s organic forms and soft palettes, their seasonal blooms offering a living counterpart to the painted surface. The scale and placement make the work both a focal anchor for the interior and a bridge to the garden beyond, inviting viewers to shift their gaze between crafted shimmer and natural color.
