Anthe said, “It was an honor and a humbling experience to work on the Project - Portraits of Memory for the Holocaust Museum. I prayed for a few weeks and contemplated the medium, how to best compose the piece and what I would convey. Then I met Warren Alifeld. When I sat down with Warren, who escaped Germany at two years old, I wanted to create something that held both truths at once: the weight of what came before, and the light of the life he built after. I felt that collage, paint, and determination through prayer would be the best tools to complete the process. This is the result!” "

"The Alifelds - Warren and Cheryl were a delight to work with, collecting information, reviewing photos, and using imagination I came up with the piece. "

“What a beautiful piece of art! I’m so delighted with my purchase. Your talent and creativity truly shine through in your work. It’s such a pleasure to own something so special, and I know I will enjoy it for years to come. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent! “

“I had Anthe create an inset for my boarded up window. she created a table setting I loved but after almost fifteen years it was tired and needed a new look. I called her and she was her usual cheery, ready to please self. We talked and decided to put a path directing the eye through the piece. She created this. I love it as it brightens my space year-round.”

Golden Slippers is a hand-painted violin that marries fine art with musical history.

Created by Anthe Capitan-Valais, this one-of-a-kind piece was inspired by a portrait drawing of world-renowned violinist and Irish folk music artist Kitty Kelly.

The work transforms a broken violin into a canvas for storytelling, blending Kitty Kelly's legacy with the vibrant tradition of Philadelphia's Old Guard string bands. The "Golden Slippers" theme connects to this rich musical heritage—a tune that echoes through American folk and string band history.

Owner: Barbara WrayAcquired: Solon Art Center, Solon, Ohio at Anthe Capitan-Valais solo exhibition. Barbara Wray traveled from Indiana to attend the show and acquire this piece.

At Gallery Studio 103, we celebrate commissions and client works that honor both artistic vision and personal meaning. This piece exemplifies the intersection of drawing, painting, and musical inspiration—core to Anthe's signature methodology, Drawing from Dance.

Here, creativity meets opportunity. Barbara Wray purchased this musical creation and gave it a new home.

These two pieces are part of Anthe’s Prophetic works and are part of a collection out of state. These were picked up from tourists who came into the studio when visiting Naples. Both are acrylic on canvas, 12” square.
